Should a spouse's own immigration history be reviewed too?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Yes. Each intended applicant's circumstances matter. The principal's assessment does not automatically resolve a spouse or child's separate history. The official family terms add US$15,000 and a US$1 million gift for each eligible joining spouse or child, including corporate cases; confirm eligibility and current instructions.

Create an individual record for each applicant

List prior applications or decisions where relevant and provide available notices. Keep the household budget separate from the eligibility review. An assumption that everyone shares the same outcome can leave important facts unexamined.

Review every intended family member’s history independently before entering a shared payment plan. The principal should include any joining spouse and unmarried children younger than 21 on the initial online application; prepare each person’s passports, civil records, prior applications, relevant notices, travel chronology, and name-change evidence. Inclusion does not cause the principal’s clean history to replace a relative’s separate facts. Each applicant, including each joining family member, first pays a separate US$15,000 nonrefundable DHS processing fee online. Settlement triggers USCIS’s Form I-140G prompt; submission precedes vetting. Only successful vetting permits the government to request a separate US$1 million gift for each applicant. Gold Card residence currently runs through EB-1 or EB-2, not EB-5; the executive order only directs officials to consider a possible future EB-5 expansion. Recheck official instructions before anyone sends money. Do not review only the principal merely because one submission covers the household.

Hypothetical example: A London documentary producer plans to include a spouse and 19-year-old daughter. The spouse previously withdrew a U.S. application, while the daughter used a different surname on an older passport. Separate chronologies and supporting documents are prepared for all three. The withdrawal and identity variation receive individualized review before payment decisions. They track her age and unmarried status without assuming inclusion freezes later eligibility.
